Ballast Point Even Keel once again demonstrates that US beers, even if they are brewed in the UK, make for superior drinking. In order to have got beer this good out of the the Marston’s brewery the Ballast Point Brewing Company much have shot all the workers and put the brewery through an autoclave.
It was delicious! Light in alcohol at 4.5%, throbbing with fresh, hoppy bitterness, a hint of floral aromas. Good long finish, although not so demanding of the drinker.
As such, it was quite correctly described as a session IPA. It had all the hoppy bitterness one wants Of an IPA yet you could drink it all night.
And then maybe sing a little song: “It’s my 40th birthday in 16 days/I’m so old my vision’s in a haze/But if I were to get a present/getting old would seem much more pleasant”
